Add a Password-protected SMB Share to VLC for Android
How to fix VLC for Android that unable to connect to Windows SMB share
So I want to use VLC on Android to play some video from SMB Share.
But somehow it doesn’t work at all. The folder appears empty, and it doesn’t prompt me for a username and password.
The built-in “Samsung My Files” file manager functions properly, indicating that the issue lies with VLC.
So, I searched online and found out that you need to enter username:password
(change it with your username and password) in the Username
field.
They should make it clear or at least make a separate Password
field.
Once it’s done, I can finally browse and play my media collection on my SMB server.
Hope this tutorial helps you!
